Company based in Birmingham are looking for a
Yard Manager
to join their team.
Competitive starting salary around £35,000 depending on experience.
The successful Yard Manager will be required to undertake the following duties:-

Manageequipment, machinery, tools, and materials within the yard.

Handle logistics and inventory control, ensuring materials are available, coordinating and facilitating deliveries and tracking inventory levels.

Oversee maintenance and repair of machinery, spotting malfunctions, organising repairs and scheduling routing servicing.

Handle disposal and replacement of equipment.
-
Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance. Conduct safety inspections and provide training as required.

Oversee 1 member of staff, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

Liaise with Contracts Managers and suppliers, addressing any yard related issues.

Maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and service providers, coordinating deliveries.

Maintain accurate records to include inventory, equipment logs and safety documentation.

Write and update policies, for example for checking in and out tools.
-
Ensure any visitors are aware of health and safety policy.

Recommend improvements, reviewing existing processes and implementing new in order to make the yard more efficient.

Maintain consumables and PPE.
-
Take responsibility for the upkeep, organisation and security of the yard.
The ideal Yard Manager will have:-.

Experience working within a construction/ building environment.
-
Experience as a Yard Manager/ Supervisor within a construction or building environment.
-
SMSTS or SSSTS.
-
CSCS card (advantageous).
-
Fork lift certification (advantageous).
-
Good IT skills.
-
Full UK driving licence (essential).
-
Knowledge of health and safety.
-
Flexible attitude.
-
Problem solving ability.
-
Strong communication skills.
