Freelance Site Manager

Location: South Argyll & Bute

Rate: Competitive Hourly / Day Rate

Peace Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a small civil package in the South of Argyll & Bute. This role is ideal for someone who can take ownership of a site, manage subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to spec.

The Project

A small-scale coring and piling civils package as part of a structural reinforcement. Works include site prep, coring, piling, and structural work. You’ll be reporting to the main contractor and expected to run the day-to-day site operations independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site activities, ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
• Supervise piling works and monitor progress against programme
• Coordinate material deliveries and manage site logistics
• Maintain site records, including daily diaries, inductions, and permits
• Liaise with engineers, suppliers, and the wider project team
• Identify and resolve any issues on site proactively

Requirements

• Proven experience managing small to medium civils packages
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (Essential)
• Strong knowledge of groundworks
• Able to work independently and confidently manage subcontractors
• Own transport and right to work in the UK
