Highways Technician – Requirements
A relevant qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 or above)
A valid ECS card and CSCS card
A HERS Portfolio
SMSTS Qualification
A full UK driving licence
Experience in highways electrical work or similar
Good knowledge of electrical standards and regulations
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Highways Technician – Responsibilities
Carrying out installation, maintenance and repair of street lighting, traffic signals and other electrical equipment on highways and public roads
Supervising 3rd party maintenance activities & maintenance closures
Working safely and efficiently, following health and safety regulations and company policies
Liaising with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring good communication and customer satisfaction
Completing paperwork and records accurately and timely
Working as part of a team and supporting other technicians as needed
