Project Engineer (Water)

Project Engineer needed to work on Severn Trent Water sites. £500 per day.

Your new company
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our clients team, working on Severn Trent Water sites across Derby, Coventry, and Birmingham. As a Tier 1 contractor, our client is committed to delivering high-quality projects and require a candidate who is willing to travel and take on challenging assignments.
Your new role
Project Engineering Functions:

  • Develop and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Create and maintain project schedules using Clip Programme
  • Support collaborative planning efforts
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings
  • Supervise Tier 2 contractors on-site as needed
  • Assist and support the Project Manager (PM)
  • Work closely with design teams
  • Maintain OWL/Action trackers with the PM

Temporary Works and Treatment:
  • Involved in temporary works and temporary treatment processes
  • Provide buildability support, including review and contribution

Supplier and Site Coordination:
  • Engage with suppliers and coordinate with site teams
  • Ensure equipment is ordered, delivered, and documented (RAMS and QA)
  • Assist with scope and review of supplier documentation

Technical Queries (TQ) Process:
  • Assist and track TQ processes from supply chain to design

Documentation and Commissioning:
  • Create Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Inspection and Test Forms (ITF)
  • Collaborate with design and commissioning teams
What you'll need to succeed
Certifications:
  • SSSTS (minimum), SMSTS (preferable)
  • CSCS Card (black preferred, silver/gold accepted)

Education:
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) at HNC level or above

Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Microsoft Project (MSP)
  • Multi-discipline experience preferred (Mechanical and Electrical)

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Tier 1 Waste Water Treatment
  • Involved in temporary works and temporary treatment
  • Good knowledge of over-pumping processes (not dewatering)
Personal Attributes
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites
