We are currently looking for an experienced Contracts/Construction Manager for my client based in Conwy. Our client have active sites all over Bangor/Caernarfon & across North Wales and into the North West. The successful candidate would need to be prepared to travel around quite a bit from site to site, a company vehicle would be provided.
Roles & Responsibilities of a Construction Manager:
* Organising the work schedule and outlining the budget in collaboration with Directors
* Managing staff across the project and sourcing potential staff for vetting by Directors/HR
* Supervising and managing the construction site regularly by inspecting materials, evaluating methods, supervising labour, ensuring solid quality control and monitoring employees performance.
* Meeting deadlines and budgets by choosing the most efficient methods to use across the project.
* Overseeing and checking drawings, designs and other documents for the project, alongside engineers and contractors, to ensure that every detail is clear to everyone working on the project.
* Creating programmes of work in collaboration with seniors. Monitoring progress v programme and reporting to Directors.
* Creating and writing progress reports that detail the completed work and the work that’s in progress.
* Attending and holding regular meetings with employees and clients to update them on the project’s progress.
* Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and highlighting any areas that demand special attention as the project progresses.
* Planning and overseeing the purchase of vital materials via buying department.
* Dealing with any unexpected challenges that happen during the project effectively and efficiently.
* Progressive thinking/advanced planning
Relevant qualifications – CSCS Black Card and/or SMSTS as minimum
Salary range negotiable depending on experience.
