Financial Controller

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a local construction specialist, based in Havant. This company has grown by 100% over the last 2 years, with ambitious plans to continue on this trajectory. Therefore, this would be a great role for someone who wants to join at a key time and make an impact. You will be offered flexible hours, 25 days annual leave as well as an opportunity to truly add value to the business. As the Financial Controller, you will lead a small team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout all areas of accounts. This is a new position for this £5m t/o organisation, so if you like the thought of improving reporting and making a difference to the bottom line for a growing company, this may be the role for you!

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:
  • The day-to-day management of a small team
  • Overseeing and improving month end management packs
  • Ownership of the finances and P&L
  • Reporting on trial balance, company profit and loss, WIP, creditors and debtors
  • Ensuring the ledgers balance at month end and reports produced by the team are accurate
  • Strategic support with company vision
  • Ideally experience with understanding mergers and acquisition

What you will need:
  • To be qualified in ACCA / CIMA / ACA / QBEs will also be considered
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as: Financial Controller / Finance Manager / Senior Management Accountant / Finance Director / Head of Finance
  • A background in construction is desirable but not essential
  • Strong understanding of Excel
  • Working knowledge of Sage is ideal
