Civil Structural Team Lead

Our client is looking for a Civil & Structural Team Lead to join them as they transition to Net Zero.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional services and technical engineering input into vital engineering packages and projects, from feasibility through to construction. The role is within the Civil, Environmental & renewable group within our clients Engineering and Major Projects team.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead in the provision of technical services and expertise, from concept to hand over in the delivery of engineering works.
  • Act as subject matter expert and key influencer on Civil\Structural technical services provision with a key role in developing and supporting junior staff members in the team.
  • The role may involve managing a team of engineers.
  • Contract management of large civil contracts, with a leading role in specification preparation, tendering, contract negotiation and contract management
  • Manage and co-ordinate all relevant interfaces within and external to the client required to successfully deliver projects to approved scope, budget, and programme.
  • Ensure a consistent high standard of output which meets all technical, commercial, safety, programme and customer requirements.
  • Promote and lead the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating visible commitment to safety.

Do you qualify?

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Developed a high level of specialist expertise, including a strong technical capability across the civil/structural engineering sector with a proven track record in delivering significant projects.
  • Strong communications skills and report writing skills and proven ability in management of external stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking skills, decision making and judgement required to ensure significant civil risks are identified and successfully managed on projects
  • A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate plan and implement required scope work items with limited oversight.
  • Full driving license and access to a car

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable technical expertise in the areas of civil/structural design of significant structures, structural condition assessment, repair, and reinstatement.
  • Experience in the use of FIDIC Conditions of Contract, including EPC, D&B Contracting and Multi Direct Contracting of large projects.
  • Experience in the management of a team of professionals
  • Chartered status in a recognized professional engineering institution

Location:

Hybrid working with one anchor day per week in Dublin or Cork offices but, travel to project locations is a key requirement of the role.
