As their business continues to grow, they are seeking a General Manager to support the team and further their journey of success and innovation.

Description of the role:

  • Oversee line management, conduct appraisals, and implement training and Personal Improvement Plans.
  • Ensure efficient performance, productivity, and adherence to HSE requirements.
  • Develop and execute a competitive sales plan, maintain an accurate pipeline, and respond promptly to queries and quote requests.
  • Identify new product ranges and target customers in trade and construction.
  • Manage debtor collections, conduct checks on new trade accounts, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Perform regular stock audits, margin analysis, and timely stock updates on QuickBooks.
  • Ensure timely customer deliveries, plan effective schedules, and oversee vehicle and forklift maintenance with health and safety compliance.
  • Perform banking in line with company policies, securely handle on-site cash, and manage general financial duties.
  • Communicate key activities with management, comply with health and safety procedures, and ensure site security and cleanliness.
  • Perform any reasonable ad-hoc requests from management.

About you:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the paving or construction sector with strong product knowledge.
  • Proven computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, Word, and experience with accounting packages like QuickBooks.
  • Excellent team management and leadership abilities, with strong impact and influencing skills.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to work effectively unsupervised, under pressure, and to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact well with both customers and suppliers, and a proactive completer-finisher.
