Interim Commercial Asset Manager

Location: London, hybrid 2 days on site

Length: 6 months (Possibility of extension)

IR35 Status: Inside

The role will be supporting the Principal Surveyors and Senior Commercial Asset Managers in taking full responsibility for managing part of a diverse commercial property portfolio across the Borough.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Commercial Asset Manager:

  • To review and monitor property accounts, with a view to maximising rental income, taking corrective action in respect of voids/debtors as necessary
  • Undertake a range of associated professional work, including inspections, valuations, lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, options appraisals and dispute management
  • Manage a commercia portfolio of 150 properties
  • Deal with HRA and General Fund related aspects
  • Be responsible for a wide range of estate management work in respect of the Council’s wider property holdings, including disposals and acquisitions
  • Work closely with the Income and Debt Officer to minimise rent arrears and to ensure that the appropriate adjustments are made to rent accounts and other records

Key Skills required of the Interim Commercial Asset Manager:

  • Recent Local Government experience
  • Knowledge of financial, legal and planning processes/regulations in relation to commercial property management in England and other relevant commercial property legislation, case law and codes of practice
  • An understanding of landlord/tenant issues in commercial property including landlord consents, service charges and claims

Qualifications:

  • Must be MRICS qualified
