About the role:
We are looking for a
Finance Assistant
to work in our finance team at our small construction company in Leyton, E10. This role will support our day-to-day transactions, including expenses and management reporting activities.
Finance Assistant responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining cost reports and managing invoices.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.

Verifying that transactions are accurately recorded in Xero including; supplier ledgers, customer ledgers, and the general ledger and completing bank and other balance sheet reconciliations

Processing payments, invoices, income, receipts and expenses using Xero accounting software

Managing accounts receivable/payable ledgers including credit control

Preparing monthly management accounts including cash flow, profit and loss, balance sheets and aged receivables reporting

Preparing VAT returns

Supporting on data capture for weekly payroll processing

Assisting preparing supporting documentation for the annual financial accounts, R&D claims and corporation tax returns as needed

Assisting with administrative tasks including intermittent reception duties
Qualifications and Skills:

Proven bookkeeping experience.

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

Data entry skills and proficiency with Microsoft office including excel

Proficiency with cloud-based bookkeeping software (Xero) required.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Accounting qualification (preferable)
