A reputable construction company in Medway is currently looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of bookkeeping knowledge, with at least 3 years of consistent experience in the field. This role is essential for maintaining the company’s financial health and accuracy.
Day-to-day of the role:

Maintaining accurate financial records and performing routine bookkeeping duties including recording purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

Collaborating with the accounting team to produce financial reports and assist with the analysis of financial data.

Ensuring timely and accurate bookkeeping processes are in place and followed.

Managing ledgers, processing business expenses, and handling payroll.

Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.

Generating and processing invoices, tracking receivables, and managing collections.

Preparing VAT returns and supporting audit preparations when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

A solid track record with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within the construction industry.

Proficiency in bookkeeping software and a strong grasp of accounting principles.

Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

The capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Effective communication skills, ensuring clear and concise financial reporting.
