Fire and Security Engineer Responsibilities
Responsible for the Servicing, Maintenance and Repair of Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV &
Emergency Lighting systems
Respond to maintenance calls, troubleshooting faults to repair non-functioning fire alarms
and restore them to original functionality or replace them if necessary.
Undertake preventative care and regular maintenance to prevent system malfunctions and
perform system and device upgrades/modifications to prepare reports at each service
location, completing all necessary paperwork, recording all work performed, materials used,
and any problems encountered.
Fire and Security Engineer Qualities Required:
Experience of the following manufacturers is desired: GENT Kentec, CTEC, Morley, Advanced
Electronics, Ziton, Hochiki, Apollo, Xtralis
To work orders quickly and efficiently, provide excellent customer service along with
possessing solid communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility is necessary in this industry as schedules can often be unpredictable and may
require evening or weekend work 3+ Years of fire protection experience
Demonstrate maintenance or testing background of fire alarm systems
Basic computer skills
IPAF CSCS Card
Knowledge of BS5839-1, BS5839-6 & BS5266
Fire alarm installation and repair experience
Cause and effect programming experience
