Location: Swansea University

Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday 40 Hours

Job Type: Permanent / Full Time

The Multi Skilled Joiner Will

  • Work as part of the Maintenance Team
  • Always observe the highest levels of health and safety, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Use your own initiative to solve problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials.
  • Liaise closely with our helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and client specifications.
  • Play a key role in planning and completing a range of joinery tasks.
  • Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high-profile client and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas.
  • Utilise PDAs / mobiles to complete works.
  • You will represent the Company and be always courteous and professional.
  • Provide regular out of hours cover on a rota system.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
  • FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification.
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to minor works, reactive and remedial maintenance
  • Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpenrty, wet trade tasks, painting, tiling and ground works.
  • Current Full UK Driver’s License

Desirable Criteria

  • CSCS card or other recognised Safety training
  • Licensed MEWP operator
  • PASMA Training
  • Fire Compartmentation experience
  • IT Skills – in the use of PDA’s
  • Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
