Commissioning Engineer

Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong electrical background to work on the London Underground infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical systems and be proficient in producing and managing essential handover documentation in accordance with London Underground (LU) standards. The role requires familiarity with the ASITE document management platform, TFL447 Maximo documentation , Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) , Electrical Test Certification , and Emergency Lighting Spreadsheets/Log Books .

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the commissioning of electrical systems across London Underground infrastructure, ensuring compliance with LU standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare and manage detailed handover documentation, including loading and managing documents in ASITE .
  • Produce TFL447 Maximo documentation for asset management and ensure the smooth transition of project information.
  • Develop, review, and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure quality and safety requirements are met.
  • Complete and manage electrical test certification , ensuring compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
  • Maintain and update emergency lighting spreadsheets/log books , ensuring all systems are correctly tested and documented.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, project management, and installation teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections and testing of electrical systems, identifying and resolving any issues during the commissioning phase.
  • Ensure all works are compliant with health and safety regulations and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer in electrical systems, preferably within London Underground infrastructure .
  • Comprehensive knowledge of London Underground handover processes and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using ASITE document management software for loading and managing project documentation.
  • Experience producing TFL447 Maximo documentation and asset management processes.
  • Strong understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) , electrical testing standards, and certifications.
  • Familiarity with emergency lighting systems and the ability to maintain spreadsheets/log books .
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Valid ECS/CSCS card and other required certifications for working on London Underground projects.
