Principal Fire Engineer Job in Manchester / Hybrid Working

Principal Fire Engineer job in Manchester for an established and leading fire consultancy. As a key part of the Fire Engineering team, you will be working through all stages of complex fire engineering projects. The role offers a salary of £65,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + 27 Days Holiday + BH + hybrid working + healthcare + continuous CPD / professional development.

They work across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, transport, healthcare, hospitality and nuclear.

Role & Responsibilities

- Reporting to Associate Fire Engineer / Associate Director

- Managing technical aspects of larger projects or components of major projects

- Support and mentor Fire Engineers within your team

- Delivery of fire consultancy services, designer services and fire strategies

- Manage internal and external enquiries

- Develop new and existing client relationships and identify new business opportunities

- Lead the fire engineering team/s to deliver multiple projects

- Attend design team meetings throughout the project

- Support with business strategy and digital innovations

- Preparation of reports, engineering designs, calculations and specifications

- Project manage from start to end including financials, quality management planning and customer care.

- Client facing through the lifecycle of projects.

Required Skills & Experience

- Engineering Council Accredited BEng Hons, MEng or MSc

- CEng / IEng or working towards

- MIFIREE or working towards

- Ideally 7+ years' experience in fire engineering

- Extensive experience in delivering fire-engineered solutions for UK based projects

- Familiar with active passive and active fire protection systems

- Strong understanding of UK legislation/regulations and design guidance (will also consider applicants from New Zealand or Australia with similar regulations)

- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines

- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
