Property Management Accountant (Service Charge) - Hybrid (1-2 days from Stokenchurch) - £40,000 to £50,000 DOE
My client, an established property consultancy, offering a full range of property solutions from a network of offices across the UK, are actively recruiting for a Property Management Accountant to join their accounts team and oversee two accounts administrators. The firm manage a portfolio of predominantly commercial properties with a few residential properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all the property accounts including handling service charge budgets and collection.
Qube experience is essential.
Responsibilities

Ownership and overall responsibility of the property accounting function in all aspects, with a particular emphasis on introducing robust and highly efficient practices and processes to accommodate future growth

Overseeing two accounts administrators

To develop the accounts team and provide on-going support and encouragement and develop their professional abilities and individual aspirations

Maintain tenant charges and receipts, manage loans and float

Ownership of QUBE software; populate with new owner/client information
-
Input tenant information onto QUBE following the Manager completing a data sheet.

Implement RPI increase on Service Charge caps when provided with the figures from the Manager.

Post and process any irrecoverable charges including invoices payable from client funds

Ensure AR Fee invoices are posted within QUBE and paid promptly.

Process residual charges on quarterly basis and monthly periodic outgoings.

Authorise all client's statements before being finalised and closed for the month/quarter.

Administrate rent deposits, tenant refunds, bad debt provisions. Run credit control routines and manage collections and escalate to surveyors where necessary.

Line manager to the remaining accounts team.

Resolve all accounting issues arising from the day-to-day work of the administrators.

Deal with all Service Charge budgeting process and end of year close downs.

To maintain a calendar of events with regards matters such as, statements, demands, service charge, rent, insurance, end of year reconciliations etc.

To manage the firms income and fees and ensure all fees are up to date and increased where appropriate in line with the management agreement - index related.

To keep the department informed, in sufficient time, of any upcoming financial events throughout the year and to orchestrate and co-ordinate a programme of completion.

To work with the Head of Property Management on the conception and introduction of an annual commercial business plan and annual operating budget.

To ensure that all financial records are accurately maintained and filed as efficiently and coherently as possible.

Ensure an exacting and efficient credit control regime in the administration and management of property arrears and insurance arrears.
Skills and Experience required:

Service Charge Accounts experience within commercial or residential property is essential

Knowledge of the QUBE system is essential

Good numeracy skills

Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail

Excellent organisational skills and able to work with a high level of accuracy

Analytical mindset; decision making and good judgement

An excellent communicator who values updating and keeping clients and colleagues regularly apprised and informed

Good understanding of general financial conduct and standards but more specifically the RICS codes pertaining to financial requirements in property management.

Salary:
£40,000 to £50,000 DOE

Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm

3/4 days working from home, 1/2 days in the office in Stokenchurch
